The Importance of Vitamins After Bariatric Surgery and How Emerge Can Help
Emerge Bariatrics is determined to provide the highest quality vitamins for patients after undergoing Lap Band, Gastric Bypass, Gastric Sleeve, Duodenal Switch, and Mini Gastric Bypass. With compliance to ASMBS Guidelines, we have put together top of the line vitamins to keep your health a priority with ease. As an added bonus- they taste great and are easy on the stomach!
Post-surgery, it is important to keep up with a vitamin regimen, as it is very common to experience nutrient deficiencies. This is due to much smaller portions and change of stomach acid/absorption. Common side effects of nutrient deficiencies after weight loss surgery include hair loss, cracked and dry skin, osteoporosis, nerve damage, and many more. To prevent these unpleasant side effects, high-quality vitamins are a necessity.
Many patients believe that vitamin patches and regular over-the-counter vitamins will prevent these common deficiencies, however, that is not the case. Studies have shown that patches lead to more deficiencies in bariatric patients over time. Over-the-counter vitamins do not have enough nutrients and tend to have high amounts of sugars. Our specially formulated vitamins use sugar alcohols and are low-calorie, optimizing your weight loss success!

Iron +C: 45-60mg a day (take 2 hours apart from calcium). Iron is a common deficiency after any bariatric procedure. It is important to take iron along with vitamin C to maximize absorption!
Calcium Citrate +D3: 1500 - 2000 mg per day Take only 500 – 600 mg at a time for best absorption. D3 helps calcium to absorb in your body, which will help to prevent diseases such as Osteoporosis.
